Tampa Anthology Part One with Al Jackson
Guests: Al Jackson
This episode is the first of 3 parts that we recorded in Tampa. Yeah we think we’re an anthology or something. This episode is only 20 minutes. Sometimes our episodes are 90 minutes. Don’t try to box us in or predict what we’re going to do. I might drop 2 minutes of heat next week. We start this one mid convo with Al Jackson talking about a charcuterie plate then we have a situation outside that needs handling. Check out Al’s new podcast Al Jackson & Frank Caliendo Try To Be Serious on iTunes and Spotify.
Isola Bars and Speeding Cars
Guests: Percy Wilson
Ohhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhh we got my cousin Percy on the podcast! Yessir! I had to really push to get this guest on but after some serious negotiations we were able to make it happen. I’ve known this dude a little over 35 years. The first few of those is a legit blur for me though. We talked a lot about the town that our family is from and what it’s like growing up in an extremely rural town in Mississippi. It’s wild. Or rather it’s not wild. It’s very mellow with quarterly burst of excitement. I think there’s potential for it to be more. What do you think? This is a super fun episode with my main NBA 2K rival and it was a dope opportunity to dive into some topics we usually don’t discuss on the show. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wore double sleep masks. Maybe I should start my own sleep mask company. He didn’t bring the bars though and he constantly raps but he didn’t bring the bars. Next time we’ll get him.
“by where the tornados start” – Kyle Kinane
Guests: Kyle Kinane
Back in August we recorded an episode with Kyle Kinane. Kyle has a couple hilarious comedy specials and albums and starting to cement his position as one of the top dramatic actors of our generation. He’s also the voice of Comedy Central. We have a good convo about Chicago jingles, morning radio and a bunch of other stuff. He owns a theremini! Go to kylekinane.com for all his show dates, etc.

Lagos to Maui
Guests: Brian Babylon
We recorded this on New Year’s Eve in Maui right before a beautiful dinner at Ruth’s Chris. Brian Babylon joins the show and I didn’t even press him about the time he changed the locks at my apartment without even asking. We’ll get to that on another episode. We discuss visiting Lagos and hanging with Nigerian comedy superstar Basketmouth. I got a bunch of native suits. It was a life changing trip. This is a minimal autotune episode.
Give me my drink even though I am sleep
Guests: None
Look at that, the Rambler isn’t dead. We’ve been gone for a while but we’re back. There’s no real good explanation for the absence. We have at least a dozen episodes in the can. I won’t dwell on it. This episode is fairly fresh. We recorded it in Maui on December 30th the day after our show there. I did the whole episode with a sleep mask on as an experiment. I think I became a better rapper for it. We discuss 2019 goals. I actually said that I’m gonna try to “learn Spanish in a few months” That’s pretty ridiculous and ambitious.
