On this episode we talked with Sadie.  She’s the lead in the band Speedy Ortiz.  I met her a couple years at SXSW when I tweeted out that I wanted to play drums in someone’s band.  They replied.  I played drums to a song that I didn’t know at all.  It’s a life highlight of mine.  Speedy Ortiz released a new album called Twerp Verse in late April and we should’ve released this podcast around then but this is a rag-tag operation.  This episode is a bit chiller and there’s less freestyling but I still predict that it’ll be a transformative experience for you.

If you’re a regular listener of the podcast you’ve probably noticed that we have an erratic release schedule. It’s ok. Life is erratic. We’ve made our choices and the choice means that we don’t have sponsors anymore A couple months ago we talked to the amazing Lizzo while we were in Los Angeles. She was really game for our nonsense. We recorded this episode in front of a live studio audience the same way Martin and other shows were.  It was recorded in Nashville at Third Man Records in a room with blue lighting that made my jacket look really dope. Nate Bartgatze and Kevin Bozeman joined us and we all talked until it felt like it was time to stop.

Neal Brennan started the episode off eating a salad but we were chill about it. He’s the co-creator of Chappelle Show and he has a great special on Netflix called Three Mics. He just really wanted to outdo Nas. Smh. Same shit different episode. We talk about work and life and make up songs when we can’t think of something else.

During the fall we did a run of a few Midwest shows and recorded an episode with our good friends Kevin Bozeman and Al Jackson.  It’s a deep philosophical discussion.  We talk the the topic of porn stars and their Amazon wish lists.
